조금 우스운 얘기지만...

호주 여행에서 가장 마음에 남았던 건...

아침에 일어나서 숙소를 나가기 전에 호주 엠티비같은...Max였나...

그 채널에서 처음 본 이 노래의 뮤직 비디오다...ㅡㅡ;

너무 부드러운 기타 선율에다가 감미로운 목소리에다가...

뭔가 막 부서지고 던지고 깨부시는 장면을 뒤로 느리게 돌리는...그런 내용의 뮤직 비디오였는데...

아무튼..좋다.

확실히...음악과 거리가 먼 생활을 하고 있어서인지

최근에 뜨는 노래가 뭔지도 모르고...

Jack Johnson이라는 뮤지션의 존재도 처음 알았다...ㅜㅜ

Blur의 Damon Albarn이 그가 새로 좋아하게 된 밴드 Kaiser Cheifs에게 공식적으로 브릿팝의 왕좌를 넘겨주었습니다.ㅋㅋ

Kaiser Chiefs가 SXSW 페스티발에서 무대에 올라서자 Damon Albarn과 90년대의 유명인 Mark Lamarr가 Ricky Wilson을 필두로한 Kaiser Chiefs가 입장할 수 있도록 아치를 만들어주었습니다(남남남대문을열어라 처럼요..ㅋㅋ) Ricky Wilson는 무리한 스테이지 다이빙으로 목발을 짚고 있었습니다.

밴드의 창설자이자 드러머인 Nick Hodgson이 말합니다. "그건 정말 이상한 일이었어요. 우리는 텍사스에서 공연을 하고 있고, Zane Lowe(유명한 라디오 DJ)가 우리를 소개하고 Damon Albarn과 Lamarr가 우리를 위해 아치를 만들어줘요. 세상에나!"

Kaiser Chiefs는 평소에 그들의 브릿팝 선조인 Blur에 대한 존경을 숨기지 않았는데요, 밴드는 Blur와 작업했던 Stephen Street와 작업을 하는가 하면 전 Blur의 기타리스트인 Graham Coxon을 'Saturday Night'이라는 곡에 카메오로 참여하기도 했습니다.

사실 Blur와 Kaiser Chiefs의 서로간의 존경은 Ricky 때문에 새 역사를 쓸수도 있을 것 같습니다. Albarn의 그의 Gorillaz의 작업 동료인 Danger Mouse와 함께 Chiefs의 공연을 봤는데요, 공연후에 Ricky는 Coxon의 솔로 공연이 열리고 있는 근처의 무대로 그들을 끌고 갔습니다. "Ricky는 그가 가장 좋아하는 밴드를 다시 뭉치게 하고 싶어해요!" Kaiser Chiefs의 관계자가 말합니다.
